PROFESSIONAL LIBRARY EXPERIENCE

Cooper-Hewitt Museum Library, New York, NY                        2009 – 2010
Intern and Volunteer
Assisted with creating bibliographic records, inter-library loan requests, reference questions and processing collections for digitization. Special projects included the pre-cataloging of artist books, assisting the Director in preparing for presentations, researching cataloging methods for trade catalogs and processing new acquisitions. Assisted with the selection of books and serials for off-site storage when library relocates.


American Numismatic Society, New York, NY                            Summer 2010
Intern
Researched and examined archival collections including papers of curators and numismatists in order to compose biographical and scope and content notes. Created box lists and re-housed collections using acid free boxes, folders, Mylar and archival ribbon. Made suggestions on restricting certain files based on sensitive content. Created Cutter numbers, bar coded and inputted items into the Library’s catalog. Edited catalog records as needed.

Volunteer
Assist with the processing, labeling and re-housing of government files and ledgers into acid free boxes and folders. Used Access and Excel to input and organize data for inclusion in the Archive’s database.
